Grand Canyon North Rim

May 16 - 17, 2007

The North Rim opens on May 15th.  Due to the higher altitude, ( 8000 - 9000 ft) the winters are cold and snow can close the access roads until early May.  This year the winter was very mild.

The north rim is only about 10 miles from the south rim, but it is a 200+ mile drive to the south rim.
